The AP reported that the 31-year old Mrs. Shawn Carter will take the stage in New Orleans on Feb. 3. No word yet if any of the number of artists who have collaborated with Beyonce will join her. The 16-time Grammy award winner has worked with Lady Gaga, Kanye West, Shakira, Sean Paul and husband Jay-Z.

While her first halftime performance, Beyonce sang the National Anthem at Super Bowl XXXVIII in 2004. A noted sports fan, Jay-Z owns part of the Brooklyn Nets. Beyonce, who grew up in Texas, just might get to cheer on her hometown team and early Super Bowl favorites Houston Texans. Unfortunately for Jay-Z, it is doubtful his NY Jets will be contenders.

After the University of Kentucky men’s basketball team clinched their sport in the Final Four, they were congratulated by Jay-Z in the locker room… but hanging with Hova comes at a price and has prompted an NCAA investigation. Under NCAA regulations, NBA owners are not allowed to interact with collegiate athletes. Because Jay-Z is co-owner of the New Jersey Nets he is prohbited from having any contact with amateur athletes. 

In 2007, Boston Celtics GM Danny Ainge was fined $30,000 for sitting with then University of Texas star freshme Kevin Durant’s mom. Lucky for Jay-Z, $30,000 is nothing!
