Ovechkin was named Russia’s most eligible bachelor by the Tatler and told GQ magazine, “Why do you think that is, that when an American goes to Russia for a week, he stays for two extra weeks? Girls! And when a Russian goes to America for a week, he leaves in five days. I’m serious! There’s a statistic!”

It seems the KHL, Russia’s premier hockey league, has taken Ovechkin’s advice and is capitalizing on the sex appeal of its female fans. Hot Ice, the KHL’s official magazine, has teamed up with Playboy Russia to find the league’s sexiest hockey fan. Women are encouraged to submit pictures and write why they love their favorite KHL team. The winner will be named Playmate of the month for April 2011.
