With Regis and Kelly are looking to expand their audience. Co-host Regis Philbin announced his retirement after this season, and Fox NFL analyst Michael Strahan has emerged as a possible replacement for the 80-year old veteran.

According to Pro Football Talk, “Philbin has been Strahan’s close friend, Rich “Big Daddy” Salgado of Coastal Advisors, posted a message on Twitter over the weekend claiming that Strahan is a candidate. If Strahan truly is a candidate, Salgado would know.”

The Super Bowl winner goes up against other candidates, Anderson Cooper, Josh Duhamel and Nick Lachey, who are rumored to replace Philbin who has been hosting the show since 1982. If Regis has anything to say about his replacement, he will be a Notre Dame fan.
