The NBA playoffs are the hottest tickets in town in Chicago, but there were two noticeable empty seats last night at the United Center for Game 1 of the Orlando Magic- Chicago Bulls second round matchup. Just before the end of the regular season, the Bulls and Magic faced eachother. After the game, Orlando’s Jameer Nelson was caught on camera telling Bulls’ Derrick Rose, “I’ll catch you in the second round.” But Nelson ran into one small road block, the Atlanta Hawks bounced the Magic in the first round. Luckily, the Hawks were there to help Nelson out by leaving two tickets in his name at will-call at Chicago’s United Center. Head of Atlanta Hawks PR Arthur Triche tweeted, @HawksPRGuy, “Taking a page out of [former NFL coach] Jerry Glanville’s book, I think I’ll follow through on Jameer’s request to catch Derrick Rose in the 2nd round.” While the tickets were not claimed, in Nelson’s defense they were in the 300 section!

LeBron James has often been compared to Michael Jordan throughout his career. But unlike LeBron, Michael Jordan stayed in Chicago for his entire career (until he came back from retirement in 2001) and brought the city six championships in eight years. Jordan even turned down lucrative contracts to play fore bigger market teams like the New York Knicks. Earlier this month, LeBron released a new Nike commercial called “Rise” asking the world “What should I do?” after he became Public Enemy No.1 for leaving the Cleveland Cavilers. Jordan has come out with his own commercial for AirJordans and responds to LeBron. While I am not a huge Michael Jordan fan, I did like the movie Space Jam, and this commercial gave me goosebumps and will probably make my boyfriend cry. The original “Rise” commercial can be seen below…

With the NBA regular season 23 days away, Chicago Bulls fans got some bad news. Forward Carlos Boozer is out 8 weeks after he broke the fifth metatarsal in his right hand. Boozer did not suffer the injury in practice or in a preseason game… instead the 6’9” Duke Alumn broke his hand tripping over his suitcase. As quoted by the Arlington Heights Daily Herald’s Mike McGraw: “It happened last night, probably 5:30-6 o’clock at night, got it looked at right away. I find out for sure today when I saw the hand specialist. I’m going to get it done as soon as possible, so Tuesday morning I’m going in early to get the surgery taken care of so I can start my rehab process. “It was just dark. My doorbell had rang and I tripped over a bag, tried to brace myself and it popped. I jumped back up, opened the door and my hand was still a little bit numb. “It was a gym bag. It was a big bag I had first thing over here at the hotel for training camp. I went back to my place, hadn’t unpacked the bag yet, came around the corner, running … Continue ...
