Now that TCU has won the Rose Bowl and defeated Wisconsin, the Horn Frogs are not letting Gee forget his comments. 20 electronic billboards have gone up in the Columbus, Ohio area congratulating TCU on their Rose Bowl victory, from “The Littler Sisters of the Poor.”

Ohio State finished second behind Wisconsin in the Big 10 and instead went to the Sugar Bowl where they defeated Arkansas. There is no telling if the Buckeyes would be able to beat the Little Sisters of the Poor, but as my 90-year old grandma says, “It’s Catholic so it’s no monkey business.”

Ryan Tharp will marry an Auburn fan in Las Vegas and pay for it if Oregon loses… if the Ducks are the BCS National Championship, Tharp wants his bride to pay for their wedding. Tharp posted the bet on Craigslist saying:

“I, along with several buddies, will be celebrating the Duck victory in Vegas from Jan. 11 to 14. During that extravaganza, I plan on taking in the entire Vegas experience, including marrying a stranger. So, if you are going to be in Vegas after the National Championship, believe in your Tigers and want to have stories to tell your grandchildren (won’t be mine) then shoot me an e-mail with a pic.”

Now if that doesn’t say happily ever after, I don’t know what does!

As a Michigan native and Walmart Wolverine I think this video describes many fans’ feelings right now. Michigan fans stand divided with the firing of football head coach Rich Rodriguez, who in his tenure at Michigan went 15-22 and failed to beat rivals Michigan State or Ohio State. Front runners to fill RicRod’s position are Michigan Men LSU coach Les Miles and San Diego State coach Brady Hoke. Many UofM fans want Stanford coach Jim Harabaugh, who led the Cardinals to a 12-1 record and to their first Orange Bowl victory, but Harabuagh, who attended high school in Ann Arbor, is expected to go to the NFL. Despite the unlikeliness of Harabuagh coming to Michigan, fans should trust Athletic Director and former Dominos CEO Dave Brandon… he did revamp the Dominos’ sauce didn’t he?

As for Rich Rod’s future, he is expected to go on tour with Josh Groban as his opening act.

Bowl officials prohibited the band from performing after they announced the theme of their halftime show would be “Recent Events in the Pro Sports World in Miami.” The game was broadcast on ESPN, the network that produced LeBron James’ Decision, which probably also had something to do with the ban.

The Stanford band is notorious for its politically incorrect halftime performances. In the past, the band has formed a curcitifix during their performance they titled “The Irish, Why Must They Fight” and even involved a white van covered in bloody hand prints during a performance at the height of the OJ Simpson murder trial.
Band or no band, Stanford finished with a 12-1 record, the best in school history when they took their talents to South Beach.

*The video below is of the Stanford band’s most notorious performance, which got them banned from performing at Oregon for three years. The band mocks Oregon’s logging industry and makes a formation of the endangered spotted owl and a marijuana leaf.

It is not uncommon, especially when you school mascot is a Falcon, to have the a falcon symbolically flyover a stadium during important sporting games. That’s what was originally planed during the Air Force Georgia Tech Independence Bowl, only the falcon was released, but he didn’t come back! A spokesman for the Air Force said, “It’s not atypical for the birds to lose concentration or panic and fly away. They rely on trainers for food, so they usually come back.” While the flyover didn’t turn out as planned, Air Force won the Independence Bowl 14-7.

Joe Paterno has been the coach of Penn State since 1966, so all in all fairness we’ll give the 84-year old a pass for not being able to hear the radio host during this horrible interview gone bad. A school official has informed the Washington Post, McDougie suffered a broken clavicle in a “single scooter accident” on campus on Saturday night.

Fellow teammate Isiah Ross was driving the sooter, but was not injured in the accident when the scooter hit a bump in the road.

The Maryland Athletic Director needs to think about setting a ban on all scooters because this is the second injury of its kind Pete DeSouza also a redshirted freshmen suffered two fractured legs in another scooter accident earlier in the season.
