NBA superstar Carmelo Anthony is in the midst of being traded from the Denver Nuggets to the New York Knicks, but Melo doesn’t seem to be too distracted since he is tweeting with the President of the United States.
Anthony tweeted a campaign solicitation from Obama’s campaign for the upcoming November election. Obama then retweeted @carmeloanthony. While it was probably Obama’s people doing the retweeting, maybe next Friday Anthony can #FF Obama.

The New York Post is reporting Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is mentoring Mike “The Situation.” The two alpha males had dinner in New York City’s Meatpacking District. The Situation is turning to the NBA’s most outspoken owner for business advice.
“I wasn’t sure what to expect when he wanted to meet, but he is really into the business side of things. [Sorrentino] had a ton of questions about running his businesses, branding, and how to invest his money,” Cuban said.
Now that The Situation is kicked off Dancing With The Stars don’t expect him to work for Cuban. “He doesn’t need a job. He just needs to surround himself with smart people who make sure the deals he does do are good deals. And from what we talked about, it sounds like he has done that.”

Washington Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas has been fined $50,000 for faking an injury. Arenas faked the injury so he could sit out of the Wizards Atlanta Hawks NBA preseason game on Tuesday. After the game, Arenas admitted he faked a knee injury, so he could get teammate Nick Young more playing time. Arenas said:
“I screwed up again, so I just want to say sorry. I wasn’t really thinking that this was going to be another media outburst. It’s like everything I do now, someone, tit for tat, tries to blow it out of proportion.”
Arenas is no stranger to controversy. Last season, Arenas brought a firearm into the Wizards locker room and was suspended for the rest of the season. Seems like Arenas should be worried about getting playing time!
With the NBA regular season 23 days away, Chicago Bulls fans got some bad news. Forward Carlos Boozer is out 8 weeks after he broke the fifth metatarsal in his right hand. Boozer did not suffer the injury in practice or in a preseason game… instead the 6’9” Duke Alumn broke his hand tripping over his suitcase.
As quoted by the Arlington Heights Daily Herald’s Mike McGraw:
“It happened last night, probably 5:30-6 o’clock at night, got it looked at right away. I find out for sure today when I saw the hand specialist. I’m going to get it done as soon as possible, so Tuesday morning I’m going in early to get the surgery taken care of so I can start my rehab process.
“It was just dark. My doorbell had rang and I tripped over a bag, tried to brace myself and it popped. I jumped back up, opened the door and my hand was still a little bit numb.
“It was a gym bag. It was a big bag I had first thing over here at the hotel for training camp. I went back to my place, hadn’t unpacked the bag yet, came around the corner, running to get the door and fell over it. I’m 265, 5 percent body fat. I’m heavy, man. I guess I had to brace myself and my weight just collapsed the bone right there.”
