The Kardashian baby maybe a double-team. Not even a month after Kim Kardashian announced she and Kanye West are pregnant, Khloe Kardashian and husband Lamar Odom are rumored to be expecting their first child. According to MediaTakeOut.com, both Kim and Khloe will be documenting their pregnancies on a reality show that will start filming in the spring. Both will make 50 percent more than they usually make on their previous reality shows.
When her pregnancy was first announced, Kim said she would not show the birth, “I’m going to keep that private,” but both Khloe and Kim have allowed cameras to follow their fertility struggles.
Khloe married NBA player Lamar Odom in 2009. The couple have not only battled to have children, but Odom’s career has come under harsh scrutiny. Despite being named the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year in 2011, Odom was released from the Dallas Mavericks last season and is now only averaging 3.7 points a game in with the LA Clippers. the series Khloe and Lamar was pulled off E! in an effort for Odom to focus on his career… and hopefully to start a family!
Khole Kardashian and Lamar Odom’s reality show is “on hold” just like the NBA star’s career. The couple are disputing reports the series was canceled. A rep told People, “It’s just on hold now while schedules are figured out. It will depend on their schedules, as Lamar’s basketball schedule is a priority.”
The 14-year veteran is said to be wanting to focus on his basketball career after an embarrassing 2012 season, which many blame on distractions from the reality show and his wife’s family. Odom is ineligible to play for another team this season after being released by the Dallas Mavericks but can sign elsewhere this offseason. Averaging just 6-points a game, it is a far cry from when Odom was the 2011 NBA Sixth Man of the Year.
E! is hoping to convince Kardashian and Odom to reconsider. Just last week, it was announced that the Kardashian family signed the biggest deal in reality television history, worth a reported $40 million for three years. Despite the contract, Kardashian and Odom will only make occasional appearances on “Keeping Up With The Kardashians.” Though it is reported, Odom has hired a team of personal trainers to get him back into shape, he was photographed yesterday teaching sister-in-law Kim how to play basketball for scenes for the news season of “Keeping Up With The Kardashians.”
Lamar Odom has worn out his southern hospital welcome and has been released by the Dallas Mavericks. Fans of the show Khloe and Lamar have seen first hand Odom’s difficult transition as a member of the Mavericks. In the 50-games this season, Odom has only started four and averaged a career low 6 points per game. Odom also took a personal leave of absence to attend to his father in LA.
In a statement to ESPNDallas.com Odom said: “The Mavericks and I have mutually agreed that it’s in the best interest of both parties for me to step away from the team. I’m sorry that things didn’t work out better for both of us, but I wish the Mavs’ organization, my teammates and Dallas fans nothing but continued success in the defense of their championship.”
Because Odom was still on the roster at the March 15 trade deadline, he is ineligible to play for another NBA team this season. However, instead of releasing Odom Mavericks are making him inactive. The Mavericks owe Odom $8.2 million for the 2012 and 2013 season, and hope to dump some of his contract by trading him in the offseason.
But it may be difficult to find another team willing to take a chance on the 13-year veteran. Last month, even head coach Rick Carisle called out Odom’s commitment, “Our fans want to know that Lamar’s in. Our players want to know that Lamar’s in. It’s not about how many points he’s scoring or rebounds … Our fans, our players want to see the guy playing like his pants are on fire and we haven’t seen that so far and that’s got to change.”
