With the NHL locked out, players are looking for work where they can. Unfortunately for LA Kings forward Dustin Penner it doesn’t always mean getting paid. After winning the Stanely Cup in June, Penner is now an unpaid intern for the Conan O’Brien show. But this isn’t Penner’s first encounter with Conan. In July, Penner and O’Brien were in a Twitter feud, when @ConanOBrien tweeted: “It’s quiet today in LA. Reminds me of the day the Kings won the Stanley Cup.” Penner chimed back, @Dustinpenner25 “I guess being on TBS you would know what silence sounds like…” no wonder Penner wasn’t paid
The head coach of the ECHL’s Bakersfield Condors Matt O’Dette said: “We’ve got a pretty young team, so they’re fans of his. I’ve actually heard his music in the locker room a few times. They’re not afraid to admit it. They’ve got a case of Bieber fever. They may be big tough guys, but don’t let that fool you.”
Bieber, who is Canadian, skated with the Toronto Maple Leafs and grew up playing hockey.
Already proving his talents on the basketball court, Bieber was named the MVP at the NBA All-Star celebrity game. Voted on by the fans, Bieber had 8 points, four assists and two rebounds for the West team.
How good do you need to be to get your number retired? Apparently scoring 21.8 points and 6.5 assists per game. Although Deron Williams only played 12 games with Besiktas team in Turkey, they are retiring his number. Williams was the first NBA player to sign with a team overseas during the NBA lockout, and now that a CBA agreenment has been reached the team is biding him farwell by retiring No.8.
While the players and owners came to an agreenment Thanksgiving night, players are in the process of collecting the signatures needed to approve the reformation of the union the ratification of a new collective bargaining agreement by Dec. 9. The start of the season will begin December 25th, giving NBA fans the best Christmas gift of all!
Kris Humphries dad is coming to the defense of his son after his 72-day marriage to Kim Kardashian. William Humphries tells Life & Style,“There was never a discussion about it — it just came out of nowhere and blindsided Kris. How could someone do that? Kris was completely surprised. The news was already published before he found out!”
While Kardashian has spoken publicity about her divorce in an Australian television interview and in a blog post, she is not happy Kris is voicing his opinion, “Kris told me that Kim was texting him a lot, but he wouldn’t respond. They did speak briefly the day the split was announced — but only because Kim was apparently pissed that Kris had released his own statement.”
Over the weekend Kardashian flew to Minneapolis to meet with her estranged husband, “It’s not a nice situation. No matter how you look at it, he’s going through a divorce,” William said.
According to the New York Post,Kardashian has apologised to the Humphries family for the “media attention and hurt this has caused them,” as also “not calling them to explain before she filed for divorce.” As irony would have it, Kardashianis now working on her first major movie titled Marriage Counselor.
