Michael Jordan shoes cause hysteria among Christmas shoppers

Despite not playing in the NBA for almost a decade, Michael Jordan still dominates the basketball world causes hysteria over the release of his latest shoe, Nike Air Jordan XI Retro Concord. The shoe, which went on sale on Friday, retails for $175 and was first released 20 years ago. The Retro Concords are modeled after the shoes designed for Jordan in 1996… but people still want to be Like Mike.

In Lithonia, Georgia, four people were arrested after they broke down a store door trying to get the shoes, forcing 20 squad cars to respond. At Somerset Mall in Troy, Michigan shoppers were trampled after people started lining up at 4am. “One kid was trampled and hurt his arm, maybe even broke it,” said Troy Police Department Public Information Officer Andy Breidenich.
