AJ Burnett will pay teammate’s daughter’s college in exchange for number

Apparently professional athletes do not get paid enough, AJ Burnett has agreed to pay for teammate Daniel McCutchen’s daughter’s college tuition. When Burnett joined the Pittsburgh Pirates in the off season, he wanted to keep his No.34 jersey. Only problem was McCutchen already had the number.

When Burnett tried to negotiate with McCutchen, he said he would give up the number if Burnett paid his daughter’s college tuition. Lucky for Burnett he has a lot of time because McCutchen’s daughter is due in May.

In the past, players have requested Rolexs or vacations in exchange to give up their number.
