UFC fighter threatens to beat up Obama, Secret Service investigates

In a post match victory interview, UFC Jacob Volkmann said he wants his next opponent to be President Obama (3:00 mark in the video). Volkmann explained he is struggling to open up his own chiropractor practice, and he does not agree with the Health Care Bill and wanted to knock some sense into the President.

MMA Fighting reporter Ariel Helwani joked with Volkmann about his comment, but it was no laughing matter when Secret Service agents showed up at the Minnesota high school Volkmann coaches wrestling at to investigate the threat.

Volkmann told the Pioneer Press, the Secret Service showed up with his picture and a transcript of the UFC interview. Agents wanted to know if Volkmann planned to go to Washington DC to hurt the President, but Volkmann told them, “No, I can’t even afford the plane ticket.”

The encounter lasted around three minutes. Lucky for Volkmann, he did not have to go through the full body scan.

New reality show on baseball jersey chasing

A new reality show will document the ins and outs of jersey chasing in Major League Baseball. According to Radar Online, “It’s a reality show about girls who stop at nothing to score with athletes while they are away from their wives and girlfriends during baseball spring training. It’s about girls that have gone pro in the sport of ‘cleat chasing.’”

The show will take place in Scottsdale, Arizona  during spring training camp, and show producers are still looking for girls to be cast on the show.

“Some girls reside in Scottsdale and others plan their vacations from other states around going to games to meet athletes at spring training. The girls map out what clubs, bars, and restaurants players go to so they can stalk them. These girls will do anything and are proud of it.”

The show will be called Baseball Annies, which is baseball slang for jersey chaser.

Little Sisters of the Poor congratulate TCU’s Rose Bowl win with billboards in Ohio

Despite going undefeated, Texas Christian University has been criticized for playing a weak schedule. Earlier in the season, Ohio State President George Gee denounced TCU saying, “Having been both a Southeastern Conference president and a Big Ten president, that it’s like murderer’s row every week for these schools. We do not play the Little Sisters of the Poor. We play very fine schools on any given day.”

Now that TCU has won the Rose Bowl and defeated Wisconsin, the Horn Frogs are not letting Gee forget his comments. 20 electronic billboards have gone up in the Columbus, Ohio area congratulating TCU on their Rose Bowl victory, from “The Littler Sisters of the Poor.”

Ohio State finished second behind Wisconsin in the Big 10 and instead went to the Sugar Bowl where they defeated Arkansas. There is no telling if the Buckeyes would be able to beat the Little Sisters of the Poor, but as my 90-year old grandma says, “It’s Catholic so it’s no monkey business.”
