Congratulations Tampa Bay Rays; celebrate postseason with slipe ‘n slide

The Tampa Bay Rays clinched the AL east and celebrated by making a makeshift slip ‘n slide out of a plastic tarp and champagne in their clubhouse at Kauffman Stadium. This is the Rays third AL East title in three seasons. Tampa Bay clinched the division on Sunday and will play the Texas Rangers in the opening round of the playoffs. Despite the Rays division title, the Minnesota Twins are the favorite to come out of the American League. The Twins face a tough opponent in the defending champions New York Yankees.

Carlos Boozer breaks hand by tripping over suitcase; out 8 weeks

With the NBA regular season 23 days away, Chicago Bulls fans got some bad news. Forward Carlos Boozer is out 8 weeks after he broke the fifth metatarsal in his right hand. Boozer did not suffer the injury in practice or in a preseason game… instead the 6’9” Duke Alumn broke his hand tripping over his suitcase.

As quoted by the Arlington Heights Daily Herald’s Mike McGraw:

“It happened last night, probably 5:30-6 o’clock at night, got it looked at right away. I find out for sure today when I saw the hand specialist. I’m going to get it done as soon as possible, so Tuesday morning I’m going in early to get the surgery taken care of so I can start my rehab process.

“It was just dark. My doorbell had rang and I tripped over a bag, tried to brace myself and it popped. I jumped back up, opened the door and my hand was still a little bit numb.

“It was a gym bag. It was a big bag I had first thing over here at the hotel for training camp. I went back to my place, hadn’t unpacked the bag yet, came around the corner, running to get the door and fell over it. I’m 265, 5 percent body fat. I’m heavy, man. I guess I had to brace myself and my weight just collapsed the bone right there.”

Crazy women suing Cowboys owner Jerry Jones for sexual assult

Back in April, Deadspin.com posted this video of a drunk Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. Now, a woman has filed a lawsuit claiming that on the same night, Jones sexually assaulted her. The woman is Patricia Gavin and is accusing Jones of sexual assault, theft, and false imprisonment. Gavin said Jones assaulted her in the women’s bathroom and gave her an STD. Gavin got tested because Jones and his son told her they were with a prostitute earlier in the night. On the night of the assault, Gavin claims her purse was stolen that had a check inside for $2 million. Gavin claims that Jones’ finical adviser tried to cover up the scandal by drugging her with GHB.

Many are claiming that Gavin is crying wolf because she filed the lawsuit pro se, without the aid of an attorney, and Jones himself has a restraining order on her.
