Roger Clemens indicted on steroid charges

A federal grand jury indicted baseball legend Roger Clemens for lying about steroid use. The 7-time Cy Young Award winner faces charges of obstruction of Congress, perjury, and making false statements. During an investigation on the MLB’s steroid use, Clemens told a House committee in a 2008 hearing that his wife had used human growth hormones but not him. Clemen’s former trainer on the other hand told the same committee that he injected Clemens more than a dozen times from 1998-2001. Clemens is facing some serious jail time but like any strategic defendant, took to his Twitter to defend himself saying:

“I never took HGH or Steroids. And I did not lie to Congress. I look forward to challenging the Governments accusations, and hope people will keep an open mind until trial. I appreciate all the support I have been getting. I am happy to finally have my day in court.”

Evidence of Roger Clemens steroid use

Former MLB pitcher Roger Clemens has long been accused of using steroids. Celemns has adamantly denied ever using performance-enhancing- drugs, but now former Red Sox GM Dan Duquette has come out to say he believes new evidence will come out proving everyone’s speculation. “I’ll just say this… let’s let it play out a little bit more, I think there is more information and evidence that will show that Roger used performance enhancing drugs in a significant way.”

Clemens played 13 years, half of his MLB career, with Boston.
