It’s not very often a football coach declines his team points, but San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh made a $75 million mistake. In the final seconds of the Thursday Night Football 49ers- Seattle Seahwaks game, Harbaugh opted not to take the safety giving his team two points. Harbaugh did not want to give the Seahawks the ball on the final play of the game, and instead the 49ers took a knee to end the game.
Despite winning the game 13-6, Harbaugh’s decision impacted as much as $75 million worth of bets. The spread of the game gave the Seahawks between 7 and 9 points. According to BetOnline.com, 65% of the action we booked was on the 49ers.
