Time Magazine has announced its 25 finalists for its annual “Person of the Year.” Making the list is LeBron James. LeBron’s fellow nominees include Barack Obama, Sarah Palin, Lady Gaga and Afghan President Hamid Karzai.
However, LeBron does not think he deserves to be on the list telling reporters after practice, “I am who I am and I think I’m in a position of my life where I’m going to get better every day. But it’s too much.”
Online voting began today, and the public agrees with LeBron. Currently, LeBron is 24th out of 25 on the list of nominees, with a little over 5,000 votes for him.
Leading the list of nominees is Turkish Prim Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who has gained attention for his stance against Israel and its relationship with Palastine, accusing Israel of “inhumane state terrorism.”
Lebron’s choice for the Time Person of the Year? -The Chilean miners, “What those guys did, the courage and what they stood for, I should be nowhere near that list. Nowhere near it.”
Last year’s winner was Chariman of the Federal Reserve Ben Bernake. Time defines the award as the person who has had done the most to influence the events of the year”…. apparently, LeBron’s “Decision” TV special qualifies.
