Longest tennis match finally ends

After 11 hours and 5 minutes the longest match in tennis history has ended. At Wimbledon’s Men’s Singles, American and 23rd seed, John Inser defeated French qualifier Nicolas Mahut.

The game began at 6:18 (UTC) on Tuesday June 22 and had to continue the following day because play was suspended at 9:07pm. The match resumed on Wednesday at 2:05pm then was suspended again at 9:15pm to resume Thursday.

Inser won at 4:49pm after a little over an hour of playing. The final set lasted 8 hours and 11 minutes. Inser had 112 aces during the match, breaking yet another record.
