Ndamukong Suh and Javid Best save football team’s Homecoming

Detroit Lions Ndamukong Suh is known as one of the fiercest players in the NFL, but the defensive tackle showed he has a softer side when him and teammate Jahvid Best saved a Detroit high school’s Homecoming.

On Monday, Detroit’s Frederick Douglas College Preparatory Academy’s locker room was burglarized. The intruders stole over 20 helmets, pads and cleats, leaving the football team with no equipment to practice with and the possibility of having to
forfiet the school’s Homecoming game.

Suh, Best, Quicken Loans, Boby Max Ford, Xenith Helmet, and two Detroit suburban high schools raised money and donated new equipment for the Hurricanes. The new gear was hand delivered by none other than Suh and Best before the game, which Douglas went on to win, 50-0.

“I was so pleased and thankful … because most of these young men, to have things taken from them, it was very personal,” said athletic coordinator Michael Hamlett.
The Detroit Lions are 4-0 for the first time since 1980 after over coming a 24-point deficit against the Dallas Cowboys. Looks like America’s team was just defeated by America’s sweetheart.
