Lolo Jones dating Ndamukong Suh

The Olympic runner who made headlines for her decision to remain a virgin until marriage is dating one of the NFL’s biggest bad boys. According to MediaTakeOut.com, Jones was a personal guest of the Detroit Lions defensive tackle in the Lions’ home opener. The insider told MediaTakeOut.com, “Lolo and [Ndamukong] have been kicking it for a while, and they are serious. [Ndamukong Suh] is very religious too, and respectful. They make a great couple.”

Before the Olympics, Jones was outspoken for her crush on Tim Tebow, telling Leno: “I’m pretty sure I’m just going to invite Tebow to church. It’s a 100% way not to get rejected.”

Update Monday, September 17: Lolo Jones tells ESPN Playbook she is NOT dating Suh. “We are not currently dating. However, if the Lions win the Super Bowl and he wants to use the ring to propose to me, then we’ll see.”

Calvin Johnson takes Lions WRs to the ProBowl

After the Detroit Lions made the post season for the first time in 10 years, star wide receiver Calvin Johnson has decided to reward his receiving core by taking them to the NFL Pro Bowl in Hawaii.

Megatron was named to the Pro Bowl team, but a sore achillies heal will keep him out of the game. Instead, Johnson has flown Nate Burleson, Stefan Logan, Maurice Stovall and practice-squad receivers Marcus Harris, Nate Hughes out to Hawaii via private jet.

The man largely responisble for the Lions’ turnaround is in the last year of his rookie contract. Detroit’s new contract is expected to make Johnson the highest paid wide reciver in the league, which hopefully means more trips to Hawaii for Burleson and others.

Detroit Lions fans protesting Thanksgiving halftime show

There are a lot of great musicians from Detroit, Bob Segar, Kid Rock, Aretha Franklin, Alice Cooper, Madonna… but Nickleback is not one of them. So Detroiters did not act so kindly when it was announced Nickleback would perform at the annual Thanksgiving Detroit Lions game.

Fans started an online petition protesting the gig and collected 10,000 signatures in just 24-hours. After years of bad teams and a 2008 0-16 season, the Thanksgiving Classic will be competitive, as the 6-2 Lions face the undefeated Green Bay Packers. Detroit battled critics to keep their Thanksgiving game, after NFL fans rallied to rotate teams on an annual basis with a playoff contender.

With the nation watching the Lions, the petition begs the league to reconsider: “The Lions ought to think about their fans before choosing such an awful band to play at halftime.”

Besides the members of Nickelback are Canadian anyway who celebrate Thanksgiving in early October.
