The Florida Panthers hosted a root beer peace summit for two South Florida 6-year olds who go in a hockey fight. The video is posted above, and if there was such a thing as precious in hockey that would be it.
The Panthers invited the players to a root beer summit at the teams training camp facility, much like last year’s beer summit hosted by President Obama.
Star forward Justin Booth hosted the summit and made sure the kids didn’t have too much to drink.
Congratulations to the August Jersey Chaser of the Month Hilary Duff and her marriage to hockey player Mike Comrie. Lizzie McGuire has come a long way, and while she may not have done anything noteworthy in her career for some time, she has become a fixture as Madison Square Garden. Duff’s husband Comrie is a journeyman in the NHL, playing for five different NHL teams in the past five years. Though Comrie is currently signed with the Edmonton Oilers, in 2009, he played for the Ottawa Senators… challenging other Jersey Chaser Carrie Underwood!
On Sunday, Florida Marlins outfielder Chris Coghlan pied teammate Wes Helms during a TV interview. Helms scored the game-ending single against the Atlanta Braves and was congratulated with a new team tradition. It is now being reported that Coghlan tore his meniscus during the post-celebration pie throw and will be sent to the DL. Coghlan received an MRI on Monday and discovered he might need surgery.
When asked about the incident, Marlins manager Edwin Rodriguez said there will be “no more such celebratory antics.”
Coghlan was last year’s NL Rookie of the year. If surgery is required, Coghlan would miss 6-8 weeks.
The No.1 overall NFL draft pick, Sam Bradford has just agreed to a $78m contract, $50, which is guaranteed. The guaranteed contract is the most ever for a single contract in the NFL, for veterans or rookies. The St. Louis rookie found success at Oklahoma. The QB led the Sooners to a National Championship and won a Hesiman Trophy. Bradford’s senior season came to an abrupt halt when Bradford had to have shoulder surgery.
ESPN sideline reporter Samantha Steele is engaged to Minnesota Viking QB Christian Ponder earning her the honor of December 2012 Jersey Chaser of the Month. Share It
