Here’s a reason to go to a Kansas City Royals game, outfielder Jeff Francouer threw a signed baseball with a $100 bill taped to it into the right field bleachers autographed, “To the Quarter! Have a few drinks + dogs on me!”The Royals have named the stadium’s section the “Frency Quarter” in honor of Francouer’s nickname. For every Thursday home game fans in the “Frency Quarter” get a T-shirt and a drink coupon for the price of their ticket… and if you’re lucky a $100 bill from Frency himself.
But Francouer isn’t just a favorite among home team fans, in April while in Oakland, Francouer had 20 personal pizzas delivered by a member of the visiting clubhouse staff to a group of A’s fans. Francouer has quite the following in Oakland, last season he threw a $100 bill into the bleachers telling fans to use it to “buy bacon or beer.” A’s fans now wear ”Bacon Tuesday” shirts and hung a piece of paper bacon from the railing in his honor when the Royals come to town.
After the pizza delivery in Oakland, Frenchy told reporters, ”Baseball is fun. We can take it too serious sometimes.”
Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler have baby blues that the sex of their first child was revealed on a Chicago sports radio show. It was Chicago Bears wide receiver Earl Bennett who had loose lips telling 670 The Score, “New toys, a baby on the way — he’s having a boy. I am excited for Jay. It’s a great time.”
According to Hollyscoop, the couple is upset that such private information was disclosed by a teammate, ”They are not happy that something so personal was revealed on a radio show, especially Jay – he didn’t want anyone to know what they were having.”
Although the pair did not plan on telling the public the sex of the baby, Cavallari did hint that Cutler was hoping for a boy. The former reality star told Glamaholic Magazine in March, “I think every guy wants a guy to carry on the name. But he doesn’t care. I just want to have a healthy baby.”
Hopefully Jay and Kristin have better luck next time, both have been outspoken with their desire to have a big family.
It’s not unusual for high school girls to be boy crazy over their prom date, but one Iowa senior had Tebowmania.
Rachel Bird of Kingsley-Pierson High School in Iowa took a Tim Tebow cardboard cutout to her senior prom. Bird asked the New York Jets quarterback to the dance via Twitter, but when she did not hear back the 18-year old cheerleader took matters into her own hands.
Making the cardboard cutout herself, Bird made sure to choose a prom appropriate outfit for Tebow. Dressed in a vest and tie, Bird created the cardboard cutout with poster paper and cardboard the morning of the prom.
A fan of Tebow’s fourth quarter comebacks, Bird is a devout Lutheran and doesn’t mind that Tebow isn’t bad looking either.
“He was a cheap date, and he didn’t talk much,” Bird laughed. “And when I asked him to stand in a corner, he did. I don’t think it even hurt his feelings.”
