The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback twice accused of sexual assault will not live with his fiance before they are married. Ben Roethlisberger told the Pittsburgh Post Gazette that due to their religious beliefs, they will not move in together until after the wedding. Big Ben has been dating Ashley Harlan on and off for the past five years, despite having sexual assault allegations against him as recently as this past summer.
While the couple has their living arrangements figured out, they still do not know where they are having their wedding. Roethlisberger has invited more than 500 guests to the wedding, including all of his teammates, coaches, and Steelers executives. The originally location was going to be the Consol Energy Center, but the WWE already has the venue booked for a wrestling match… how classy!
LeBron James’ mom Gloria James is no stranger to controversy. It was said Gloria had an affair with LeBron’s teammate in Cleveland Delonte West. Now Gloria is capturing headlines gain, this time for assaulting a valet attendant at the Fontainebleau Hotel on Miami Beach. Gloria was leaving Club LIV at the Fontainelbeau at around 5am when she got upset at the valet attendant because her keys were not in her car.
“There was an incident involving Mrs. Gloria James and an employee of our valet parking provider while she was exiting the hotel early Thursday morning,” a spokesperson for Fontainebleau Miami Beach
The Miami Beach Police Department charged Gloria with simple battery and disorderly intoxication. This is the second alcohol related arrest for Mrs. LeBron James, in 2006, Gloria was arrested for a DUI.
The Guiness Book of World Records has confirmed Gladys Burrill as the oldest person to ever run a marathon. The 92-year old grandma competed in the Honolulu Marathon and finished in just under 10 hours by power walking and jogging. The Hawaii House of Representatives congratulated Burrill with a certificate and a lei.
The record was previously held by a 90-year old man. Burrill is nicknamed the “Gladyator” and rightfully so… this is her fourth marathon since she ran her first race when she was 86.
After finishing the marathon, Burrill said the secret to living a long life is, “Just get out there and walk or run. I like walking because you can stop and smell the roses, but it’s a rarity that I stop.”
Congratulations to UConn men’s basketball team who are the 2011 NCAA Champions. The Huskies beat the Butler Bulldogs 53-41, in the lowest scoring championship game since 1949. The UConn students were so bored they decided to try and flip over cars.
