Jessica Simpson is engaged to former NFL player Eric Johnson. The pair began dating back in May, when Johnson was still married and in the process of getting a divorce form his wife.
Simpson’s rep confirmed the news to JustJared.com, “We’re thrilled to confirm that it’s true! They are engaged.”
In his short lived NFL career, Johnson played five seasons with the San Francisco 49ers and was released by the New Orleans Saints in 2008.
Johnson’s and Simpson’s relationship has apparently caused a rift between Simpson and her close friend and hair stylist Kevin Paves. Paves is rumored to not like Johnson and thinks he is dating Simpson for fame. Johnson was supposed to start business school at the prestigious Wharton School but dropped out to stay close to Simpson.
The couple’s engagement comes just one week after Simpson’s ex-husband Nick Lachey proposed to his longtime girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo.
This is not Simpson’s first stint as a jersey chaser. Simpson had a two-year relationship with Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo before he broke up with her on her 30th birthday.
Is Steve Nash trying to save money on a publicist? The NBA star has announced the birth of his son and that he is divorcing his wife all in the same statement. Nash and his wife Alejandra welcomed their third child into the world, a son named Matteo Nash but have decided to go their separate ways.
The Arizona Republic released a statement form Nash saying, “I am very thankful and excited that we have a new son, Matteo Nash. Alejandra and the baby are doing fine. But this is a bittersweet moment for my wife and me; after five years, we are now in the process of dissolving our marriage.”
Nash met Alejandra in 2001 and were married in 2005. The couple gave birth to twins girls in 2004. In the statement, Nash also said, “I want only good things for Ale going forward. I’m focused on ensuring that our children understand how much they’re adored and loved by us as they continue to adjust to these changes. I would ask that their privacy, and ours as a family, be respected as we move forward. This will be my only statement on this.”
Alejandra is from Uruguay and worked as a personal trainer before marrying Nash, who plays for the Phoenix Suns.
