LeBron James has nicknamed the Miami Heat The Heatles. The revelation came after the Heat’s 11th consecutive road win against the Charlotte Bobcats, 96-82, “I see we sell out 99.1 percent on the road, so we call ourselves the Heatles off the Beatles, so every time we take our show on the road we bring a great crowd.”
In the interview below, LeBron gets a kick out of his creative nickname. Based on the fact that LeBron didn’t know what “contraction” meant, I take it he just discovered who The Beatles were when their music came to iTunes… either that or he plays bass in Beatles RockBand.
Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom will have their own reality show on E! According to US Weekly, the couple will start filming in the spring after Odom’s basketball season with the LA Lakers is over. Kardashian is no stranger to reality TV, she already stars in E!’s “Keeping Up with the Kardashian” and its spinoff “Khloe and Kourtney Take Miami.” But this particular spinoff will focus solely on Kardashian and Odom and will be similar to “Newlyweds.”
The couple have been married since last September when they surprised fans by announcing their engagement after three-weeks of dating. In the past, Kardashian has denied rumors that her and Odom were having their own reality show. If this doesn’t work out for them, Khole can always go on “Basketball Wives.”
Last week, LeBron James upset a lot of people when he said the NBA should contract or downsize to make the league more competitive… because let’s face it, not every team can hold a players summit to get LeBron, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. But now LeBron is back pedeling saying he doesn’t know what contraction means.
“That’s crazy, because I had no idea what the word ‘contraction’ meant before I saw it on the Internet. I never even mentioned that. That word never even came out of my mouth. I was just saying how the league was back in the ’80s and how it could be good again. I never said, ‘Let’s take some of the teams out.’”
This is a perfect example the NCAA can use to encourage athletes to stay in school. In LeBron’s original quote, the 26-year old said:
“Imagine if you could take Kevin Love(notes) off Minnesota and add him to another team and you shrink the [league]. Looking at some of the teams that aren’t that great, you take Brook Lopez(notes) or you take Devin Harris(notes) off these teams that aren’t that good right now and you add him to a team that could be really good. Not saying let’s take New Jersey and let’s take Minnesota out of the league. But hey, you guys are not stupid, I’m not stupid, it would be great for the league.”
LeBron wants the game to return to its glory days of the 80s when he was only five-years old. Thanks blog brother for the link!
Kobe Byrant and the Lakers may have lost to LeBron James and the Miami Heat in the Christmas Day clash, but it was Kobe who go the last word. While the Lakers lost 96-80, Kobe was quick to remind James that he is a “Mother F$^&@!&# Champ.”
