Mikhail Semenko was one of 11 Russian spies arrested this week for espionage. While Semenko may have been spying on the U.S he was a fan of U.S sports. Semenko’s Facebook picture is him in front of Solider Field, and he posted a photo album titled: “Let’s go Devils! And also Ilya Kovalchuk.” Interestingly enough, Semenko posted the photo album on November 2, 2008, and Kovalchuk, who is also Russian was traded to the Devils in February.
Last night, Canada had their version of the MTV Movie Awards. At the MuchMusic Awards, Miley Cyrus both preformed and presented. It being Canada and all, Jonathan Toews join Cyrus to introduce music performer Drake. Cyrus congratulated Toews on winning the gold medal at the Olympics with Canada and of course winning the Stanley Cup with the Chicago Blackhawks… all while struggling to read her cue-cards.
Victoria Secret has finally given jersey chaser cute sports clothes to wear! Victoria Secret’s PINK unveiled its new Major League Baseball Collection over the weekend. The launch happened in Chicago to celebrate the Cubs v. White Sox inter-league series. Cub’s Randy Wells and White Sox’s Gordan Beckham were on hand at the Victoria Secret launch party.

The rule “there is no crying in baseball” does not apply to hockey… at least it doesn’t apply to Jeremy Roenick. Roenick played for Chicago from 1988-1996 and is now an announcer for NBC. Besides the Blackhawks, Roenick played for a slew of NHL teams and had successful career, but he never won a Stanley Cup. Obviously, based on Roenick’s reaction to the Blackhawk’s Cup victory… it is what he regrets most. What is not clear is why Roenick always went for the big bucks and went to bad teams instead of Cup contenders?
