Today was the 33rd annual Detroit Free Press International Marathon. I ran the half-marathon and finished with a time of 2:26! The winner of the marathon was Jordan Desilets of Pickney, Michigan. Desilets finished with a time of 2:28:30… I beat Desilets by two minutes, although he did run twice as much. Desilets is a former Eastern Michigan University track runner and won the NCAA Division I 3,000-meter steeplechase in 2004. This is Desilets first marathon. Congrats to all the runners!
Soccer fan Felipe Alvarez tattooed the Atletico National jersey onto his body. The tattooed jersey is of murdered Altetico legend Andres Escobar. Escobar was murdered at a nigh club in 1994, but his memory will live on forever in Alvarez’s tattoo. No one will be questioning Alvarez’ fanhood.

Last week a Tiger Woods photo from the Ryder Cup went viral, and one fan captured the attention of millions. People were asking who the fan dubbed as the “Cigar Guy” was. A blog even offered a $1,000 reward for the man’s idenity. Now, the Daily Mail has tracked down the fan named Rupesh Shingadia. Shingadia is a 30-year-old golf fan and investment analyst from London. As for what Shingadia was wearing, he was playing tribute to Spanish golfer Miguel Angel Jimenez.
The photo was taken as Woods misplayed a shot, causing a gold ball to go straight for a camera lens and gave Shingadia instant fame. Shingadia does not expect his celebrity to last long, but in the meantime he is enjoying the parodies, “My favourite is me with The Simpsons.”

An internet blog is even going so far to offer a $1,000 reward for the identity of the Groucho Marxian golf fan. The blog Befrugal.com posted the following contest rules:
