Maria Sharapova- September 2012

After four years together,  Maria Sharapova has called off her engagement to NBA player Sasha Vujacic. The tennis star has made it to the finals in three of the last five grand slams and won silver at the London Games. Sharapova is so dominant she doesn’t need to be a jersey chaser, she needs to be chased, which is why she is the September Jersey Chaser of the Month.

Ryan Lochte gets reality show on clothing line

Sorry jersey chasers… Ryan Lochte will not be the next Bachelor, but you can still see him on TV only in his own reality show. The Olympic swimmer confirmed he is getting his own reality show, “They follow me on my normal day, just training, doing my own fashion line…It’s gonna be me, me being myself. And I’m pretty much going to show the world that and my new fashion line.”

In case anyone was confused, the show will be about Lochte and his clothing line. The 28-year old will join the E! family- who is apart of the NBC Network and home to the Olympics. It is unclear if Prince Harry will be making any cameos…

Sharapova- NBA player wedding off

Maria Sharapova was rumored to be pregnant after suffering a stomach virus, but the tennis star is neither pregnant nor engaged. Sharapova’s wedding is off to NBA player Sasha Vujacic. The couple who began dating in 2009 planned to wed in Turkey this November.

Vujacic, who played for the Lakers frmo 2004-2011 and last year with the Brooklyn Nets, told close friends he and Sharapova have been broken up for three months.

But Sharapova has plenty of Love in her life. In July, Sharapova won silver at the Olympics and has made it to the finals in three of the last five grand slams.

Javelin kills German track official at youth meet

A German track official was killed at a youth meet when he was struck by a javelin. 74-year old Dieter Strack was accidentally speared in the throat by a 15-year old competitor while officiating the youth track meet. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he was pronounced dead on arrival due to loss of blood.

In the United State high school students javelin is not a track and field event. In 2007,  a French long jumper was injured at a track meet in Rome but survived.
