Video: Cavilers fans perform Flash Mob to keep LeBron in Cleveland

Now that the Cleveland Cavaliers failed to get Tom Izzo as their head coach in order to lure LeBron James into resigning with the team, it is now time for Plan B. Fans preformed a Flash Mob dance at the Tower City Mall on Thursday. The purpose was to “Keep LeBron in Cleveland” and was organized by Greater Cleveland Sports CEO David Gilbert. 200 boys and girls from Cleveland and Akron Boys and Girls clubs were apart of the Flash Mob.

Today is also LeBron James Appreciation Day in Ohio. A rally is being held in LeBron’s hometown of Akron.

No word yet if the Flash Mob worked…. or if LeBron even knows about it.

Tom Izzo is staying at Michigan State

Tom Izzo has decided not to take the 5 year $30 million dollar coaching job for the Cleveland Cavilers to stay at Michigan State. Izzo has the head coach of MSU basketball since 1995 and has led the team to a 2000 National Championship and six final fours.

The announcement came Tuesday evening when Izzo held a press conference alongside MSU president Lou Anna Simon and athletic director Mark Hollis.

After a two week courtship many speculated Izzo would take the job especially with LeBron’s approval as thejerseychaser reported Monday.

Izzo addressed the LeBron situation by saying: “Just as I decided to stay home, I hope a 6-8, 270 pound forward in Cleveland decides to stay home.”

I wonder who he was referring to?

Texas will NOT join the Pac 12

In the mega-conference shuffle, Texas has thrown everyone for a loop hole by deciding to stay in the Big 12.

After Nebraska left for the Big 10 and Colorado the Pac 10, Texas’ departure would have been the final nail in the Big 12 coffin.

Texas’s decision to stay in Big 12 creates challenges for the Pac 10s and Big 10s plans to merge into mega-conferences by luring teams away from the Big 12…. but with Texas staying that won’t be happening.

The purpose of the mega-conferences were to make more money, but Texas found away to do that without joining the Pac 10. Texas was able to negotiate TV revenue where the Longhorns would receive $20 m and the other schools would get between $14-17m.

Many are speculating how long it will last and believe the Big 12 will only fall further back in TV rights. But for now, Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State are all staying put.

Alas the most confusing part of the mega-conference shuffle is that the Big 12 now has 10 teams, while the Big 10 now has 12 teams!
