With the NBA regular season 23 days away, Chicago Bulls fans got some bad news. Forward Carlos Boozer is out 8 weeks after he broke the fifth metatarsal in his right hand. Boozer did not suffer the injury in practice or in a preseason game… instead the 6’9” Duke Alumn broke his hand tripping over his suitcase.
As quoted by the Arlington Heights Daily Herald’s Mike McGraw:
“It happened last night, probably 5:30-6 o’clock at night, got it looked at right away. I find out for sure today when I saw the hand specialist. I’m going to get it done as soon as possible, so Tuesday morning I’m going in early to get the surgery taken care of so I can start my rehab process.
“It was just dark. My doorbell had rang and I tripped over a bag, tried to brace myself and it popped. I jumped back up, opened the door and my hand was still a little bit numb.
“It was a gym bag. It was a big bag I had first thing over here at the hotel for training camp. I went back to my place, hadn’t unpacked the bag yet, came around the corner, running to get the door and fell over it. I’m 265, 5 percent body fat. I’m heavy, man. I guess I had to brace myself and my weight just collapsed the bone right there.”
Bravo has announced that it has just finished shooting “The Real Housewives of Miami.” Joining the cast will be Scottie Pippen’s wife Larsa. The Chicago Sun-Times is reporting that the Chicago Bulls Hall of Famer is upset his wife will be on the new series of the controversial franchise. In Larsa’s defense, the series wasn’t originally shot as a “Real Housewives” show but rather for a new reality series “Miami Social Club.” In mid-production producers decided to cash in on the Bravo franchise with “The Real Housewives of Miami” series.
This past summer, Pippen returned to the Bulls, where he played the majority of his NBA career as a team ambassador. Pippen also has a home in Miami, and according to the Investopedia, Pippen has lost more than $120 million dollars because of bad investments… maybe Larsa can team up with Teresa Giudice from Real Housewives New Jersey.
Wrigley, the Chicago based candy company, gave Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose a pretty sweet gift. Rose is a Skittles junkie and was given a customized Skittles machine. Wrigley has promised to keep it fully stocked for the next three-years. When Rose walks passed the Skittles machine, a recording of Rose’s voice plays tempting him to have a pack. I bet Lamar Odom is angry he doesn’t have one!
Apparently this site is turning into the new LeBronJames.com… but in very Gossip Girl-esque style, I can report two different people who spotted LeBron James in the posh Chicago suburb Highland Park house hunting. Could this possibly mean that LeBron is going to sign with the Bulls when he becomes a free agent this summer?
The Chicago Tribune reported this story 4 days ago saying that it was a rumor, but eye witnesses report otherwise. Either LeBron had a change of heart or he is the new Bigfoot of Highland Park.
