With no end in sight to the NBA lockout, players are turning to the dance floor.
Ron Artest has been confirmed as the newest contestant on Dancing With The Stars, and it looks like he will not be the only NBA player to be competing during the lock out…. CBS Sports is reporting Dwyane Wade is also to be in the running to win the Crystal Ball Trophy.
Fellow athlete and former winner Hines Ward confirmed the rumors and told Sports Radio Interviews: “I don’t know, but I did hear rumors and his name did come up. I also heard Ron Artest too.”
The official lineup will be announced after tomorrow’s episode of The Bachelor Pad. No word yet if Wade joins the cast LeBron and Chris Bosh will come as a packaged deal.
While most NBA players are debating on whether they should play in Europe during the NBA lockout, bad boy Ron Artest is taking his talents to the dance floor.
With ABC casting the new season of the reality competition, Artest is up for the challenge… kind of, “I’d want to go,” Artest said, “but I’d want to lose in the first round.”
Artest has showed his musical side before releasing his own rap single after the LA Lakers won the 2010 NBA Championship, but Artest is not so sure about dancing, “I don’t want to put my hips in a situation where I’m looking like Rick Fox,” Artest said. “Rick Fox is a great dancer, but I don’t want to put my hips in a situation where people are questioning whether I’m a rapper or a singer.”
Yet another sports star is coming out with his own reality show… this time LA Lakers bad boy Ron Artest is showing his softer side. The player responsible for the worst brawl in NBA history has a new show called “Last Second Shot.” Cameras will follow Artest as he mentors a group of parolees by teaching them life lessons through basketball.
According to Artest, “We’re gonna put them through an intensive experience, give them hope and confidence to change their lives.”
Artest himself is no stranger to second chances, not only was he reinstated to the league after being suspended for the 2005 season, but was also arrested for domestic violence in 2007 and spent ten days in jail.
E! has released it’s first promo for Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian’s new reality show… but there may be a new plot line in the couple’s TV series, both InTouch Weekly and gossip blog Perez Hilton are reporting that Odom is cheating on his wife. On a trip to New York last month, Odom was spotted at a Manhattan strip club with two Russian women. Lamar and Khloe debuts in April, and we hope this show has a happy ending!
