Green Bay homeless couple wins trip to the Super Bowl

Between Ted Williams or the homeless man who won ESPN’s Fantasy Football contest… it doesn’t seem to be a bad time to be homeless. Ouida Wright and her boyfriend, are a homeless couple living in Green Bay homeless who won a free trip to Dallas to go to the Super Bowl.

The contest was put on by the Dallas Convention Bureau who sent a “mystery” person to the streets of Green Bay. The first person to say the phrase, “Have you been to Dallas lately” would win two tickets and an all-expense paid trip to Dallas. The couple found out about the contest when visiting the Green Bay Winter Festival, and it only took them four tries to find the “mystery” person.

Like a true jersey chaser… when asked what she was looking forward to most, Wright said, “spooning” with her boyfriend.

Super Bowl XLV turning into a hair battle btewen Polamalu and Matthews

Earlier this week, Green Bay Packers’ linebacker Clay Matthews signed a deal with Suave shampoo for men as their newest spokesman, making Super Bowl XLV a battle of the hair. Pittsburgh Steelers Troy Polamalu already has an endorsement deal for Head & Shoulders shampoo. In August, P&G paid for a million-dollar insurance policy from Lloyd’s of London for Polamalu’s hair. Matthews should take note, back in 2004 during a Steelers-Kansas City Chiefs game, Polamalu was tackled when running back Larry Johnson pulled Polamalu’s hair.

Man fired for wearing Packers tie after beating Chicago Bears

Chicagoland car salesman John Stone was fired for wearing a Green Bay Packers tie to work after the Chicago Bears lost to the Packers in the NFC Championship. On Monday, Stone wore his tie to work at Webb Chevrolet in Oak Lawn when he was approached by the General Manager to take it off. Stone thought his boss was joking but was later fired.

“I didn’t know you could get fired for wearing a tie. I’m supposed to dress up. I’m a car salesman,” Stone told WGN News in Chicago.

When asked about the incident, Webb Chevrolet General Manager Jerry Roberts said the dealership had done promotions with the Chicago Bears. “I don’t feel that it was appropriate for him to go directly in contrast with an advertising campaign that we spent a lot of money on.”

But things are looking up for Stone, not only are his Packers going to the Super Bowl, but he has been offered a job at nearby Chevrolet of Homewood.

General Manager Guy Cesario said, “Good salesmen are so hard to find…. To put somebody’s livelihood in jeopardy because of a tie is just idiotic.” Cesario relates to Stone because he is a Chicago Cubs fan who grew up on the South Side… too bad he can’t relate to Stone that he is a fan of a winning team.
