This Sunday the NFC Championship game versus the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers will be played on Fox, and the network is taking full advantage with the upcoming season of American Idol premiering this week. American Idol winner Lee DeWzye tweeted, “National Anthem at home, yes. Go Bears.”
During last week’s divisional playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks, the Bears enlisted Chicago fan favorite Jim Cornelison to sing the National Anthem. Cornelison is famous for singing the National Anthem at Chicago Blackhawks games where it has become a tradition for fans to cheer for the entire song. If Cornelison is out and DeWzye’s in, I am sure Bears fans will still find something to cheer about.

Super Bowl Shuffle writer takes MTV and VH1 to court

The writer of the famed Chicago Bears song, “The Super Bowl Shuffle” is taking media conglomerate Viacom to court. Julia Meyer is claiming MTV and VH1 played the hit song without permission.

The song was written in 1985 when the Bears won the Super Bowl. Interest in the song is up because its 25th anniversary is approaching. The single sold more than 500,000 copies when it first released.
