Elin Nordegren dating NHL player

Tiger Woods’ ex-wife has come out of jersey chasing retirement, this time trading the green for ice. Elin Nordegren is linked to San Jose Shark defenseman Douglas Murray, who like Nordegren is a fellow Swede. According to the Swedish gossip site Expressen, the couple got cozy at Rose Nightclub in Stockholm last week. Earlier this month, Nordegren and Murray dinned with mutual friends.

The friend playing matchmaker just so happens to be Jesper Parnevik, the man who set up Nordegren and Woods. Nordegren and her twin sister nannied for Parnevik in 2000, introducing Elin to Woods a year later.

Despite the rumored romance Murray is denying any relationship. “We are only friends,” Murray told Expressen. “We are not dating and we have never dated. We have friends in common and we have only known each other for a couple of weeks.”

Perviously, Nordegren dated investment banker, Jamie Dingman and even planned to marry him.

US women’s beach volleyball team vows to compete in bikinis

Life, libery and string bikinis… the US women’s beach volleyball team is vowing to stay true to our American values and will compete in their bikinis at the London Games. New Olympic rules allow athletes the option of wearing baggy shorts and a t-shirt. The new uniforms were passed to accomodate concerns from nations with stricter religions.

Misty May-Treanor, the sports all-time winning player and two-time Olympic gold medalist, isn’t fazed by the changes saying: “What you see is what you get — there’s no airbrushing.” While beach volleyball was being critized for being two sexy, in both badminton and boxing, there were pushes to replace female athletes’ shorts with skirts.

Other countries , including Australia, are opting for the uniform changes because of weather concerns.  London temperatures expected to drop to the low 50s. ”We need it to keep our muscles warm,” Australian player Tamsin Hinchley said. ”It’s an extremely strenuous sport.”

Team USA has worn bikinis since beach volleyball became an offical Olympic sport in 1996 and will continue to wear theam. Jen Kessy told the NY Post, If it is cold, we will put clothes on. But we won’t be playing in shorts… We’re not uncomfortable in our bikinis.”

Rob Gronkowski getting a reality show?

Soon Rob Gronkowski fans may get to see the New England Patriots TE more than just on Sundays. The 23-year old, who danced on stage with LMFAO after his team lost the Super Bowl, is in talks to get his own reality show. ESPN sports business insider Darren Rovell tweeted, “William Morris Endeavor (talent agency) is working with Rob Gronkowski & his family to develop a TV show, a book & speaking engagements.”

Gronkowski is one of four brothers, all who play football. Two brothers also play in the NFL on the Cleveland Browns and Denver Broncos, while the youngest brother plays for Kansas State.

A reality series would just be one of the many accomplishment in what sports fans are calling “The Summer of Gronk.” In June, Gronkowski signed a 6-year extension with the Patriots worth $54 million and appeared on the cover of ESPN Magazine “The Body Issue.”

Known to stay out of the spotlight, the Patriots have asked Gronkowski to diminish the publicity, though it is unclear where a reality show fits in.
