You may not get Derek Jeter’s phone numbers but the New York Yankees slugger gives gift baskets to his one night stands. According to the New York Post, “Derek has girls stay with him at his apartment in New York, and then he gets them a car to take them home the next day. Waiting in his car is a gift basket containing signed Jeter memorabilia, usually a signed baseball.”
After a well publicized break up with his long time girlfriend actress Minka Kelly this summer, Jeter is a little rusty in the dating game. He made the mistake of regifting a second gift basket to a girl he had forgotten he had hooked up with before.
But don’t feel too bad, an autographed baseball is worth $250!
Madonna has been named the Super Bowl half time performer. The Material Girl beat out other acts including Lady Gaga, who NBC officials did not think would identify with NFL fans… but apparently Madonna does. This is the second time Madonna has asked to perform at the Super Bowl, but in 2000 had to pull out due to a scheduling conflict.
The NFL released a statement saying, ” “We are happy to confirm that Madonna will perform in the Bridgestone Super Bowl XLVI Halftime Show at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Sunday, February 5 … The Material Girl has partnered with a creative team from Cirque du Soleil, Jamie King, and multimedia artists from Moment Factory, to create a signature performance for the Super Bowl’s halftime show, which will be broadcast worldwide.”
Ironically enough, this year’s Super Bowl is in Indianapolis, which Madonna has never toured in.
Maybe Victoria Secret needs to start reading Thejerseychaser.com after their awful oops written on a Michigan State t-shirt from the PINK collection.
While the t-shirt says “Spartans” and is green and white underneath “Spartans” the shirt reads, “Hail to the Victors”… the motto of State’s arch rival University of Michigan.
The t-shirt was taken off the website immediately after CNBC sports-business reporter Darren Rovell tweeted: “The folks @VictoriasSecret have made a horrible Michigan error.”
