Yet another sports star is coming out with his own reality show… this time LA Lakers bad boy Ron Artest is showing his softer side. The player responsible for the worst brawl in NBA history has a new show called “Last Second Shot.” Cameras will follow Artest as he mentors a group of parolees by teaching them life lessons through basketball.
According to Artest, “We’re gonna put them through an intensive experience, give them hope and confidence to change their lives.”
Artest himself is no stranger to second chances, not only was he reinstated to the league after being suspended for the 2005 season, but was also arrested for domestic violence in 2007 and spent ten days in jail.
Dancing With The Stars veteran Chad Ochocinco is engaged to Basketball Wives star Evelyn Lozada, making them the perfect union in reality television. Now the couple are close to inking a deal of their own based on their own twist on the Brady Bunch. Between the two of them, Ochocinco and Lozada have five children. Lozada has a daughter, and Ochocinco has four children and three baby mamas, which is enough drama for a reality show in itself.
The couple will chronicle their journey to uniting their families on their trip to the alter. But in the meantime, Lozada will star in the newest season of Basketball Wives. The Puerto Rican beauty was once engaged to NBA player Antoine Walker also owns a popular Miami shoe boutique, Dolce Shoes.
Ochocinco has said he wants to change his name back to Johnson, which Lozada probably made part of the engagement deal, so she wouldn’t have to take the name!
Girls hearts are breaking everywhere across America (Jessica Simpson)… Tony Romo is officially off the market. The Dallas Cowboys quarterback who is known more for his good looks than his throwing arm married Candice Crawford. Candice is the younger sister of Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford and a former Miss Missouri.
The couple enlisted the wedding planner for NFL quarterbacks Todd Fiscus, who also planned Eli Manning’s wedding. Details are mum on the ceremony but Fiscus did say, “We did lots of man food. I have a lot of football players to feed.”
As for the guest list, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was in attendance, who had to clear his attendance with the NFL because of the lockout restrictions. The lockout is also affecting the couple’s honeymoon plans despite Romo having extra time on his hands. ”We’ll see. We haven’t really gotten there yet. We’re taking a day at a time with the lockout. We (are not) even sure if we’re gonna get to go (on) one,” Candice said.
In a twisted six-degrees of separation, Romo dated American Idol country singer Carrie Underwood who also dated Candice’s brother Chace Crawford.
Carlos Boozer joins the ranks of NBA players with a rap songs. In his song, “SuperBest,” Boozer raps: “Run back down the court like “You know it was Boozer!” used to be another li’l fella with some hoop dreams, Now I got the game laced up, shoestrings”
Maybe Boozer should stick to playing basketball… the $15m a year Chicago Bulls player had only seven points in the Bulls’ loss to the Miami Heat last night in Game 2 of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals.
