Brandon Davies suspended from BYU for getting professor’s daughter pregnant?

BYU basketball star Brandon Davies made headlines when he was suspended from the team for breaking the school’s honor code after admitting to having premarital sex with his girlfriend of two-years. Many criticized BYU for its harsh honor code, which also prohibits students from using tobaco, drinking alcohol or even caffeine. But now new details are emerging in the Davies sex scandal, media sources are reporting Davis cheated on his girlfriend and got a BYU professor’s 19-year old daughter pregnant.

The professor went directly to the Athletic Department, who covered up the sex scandal by allowing Davies to admit he had inappropriate relations with his girlfriend. A March Madness favorite, BYU was ranked No.3 but lost to New Mexico the day after Davies’ suspension.

Cam Newton tapes leaked?

Although Cam Newton was found innocent by the NCAA of any wrong doing, Alabama radio host Scott Moore says he’s got the tapes to prove otherwise. Moore claims the tapes reveal that Cam was present during meetings with his father Cecil soliciting money to sign with a college team. Newton won a National Championship with Auburn and is entering the NFL draft. Listen to the tapes here…. and remember Cam mo’ money mo’ problems.

Weekend Video: Louisville cheerleader almost costs team the game

During the Louisville-Pittsburgh basketball game, a male cheerleader made a conveniencing argument for the sport of cheerleading by almost costing his team the game. With .5 seconds left in overtime, Louisville’s Kyle Kuric dunked the ball to give the Cardinals a 62-57 lead. In the heat of the moment, a Louisville male cheerleader ran on to the court and threw the ball into the air to celebrate …. causing the Cardinals to get a technical foul, which meant two free throws for Pitt. While Louisville ended up winning the game, the cheerleader’s team spirit further tarnished cheerleading’s reputation, but if a cheerleader can lose a game doesn’t that mean it’s a sport?

Mark Cuban takes steps to challenge BCS with playoff system

When Dallas Maverick owner Mark Cuban said he was making an alternative to the controversial BCS system, not many people took him seriously. But the notorious NBA owner is taking steps to create a competitor to the college bowl game system.

Cuban registered the corporation Radical Football in his home state of Texas, which would provide colleges the option of entering a playoff system instead of the current one bowl game system. The colleges would be paid directly by Radical Football.

Cuban is using his billions he made in the late nineties, when he sold his internet company to Yahoo!, to create the radical playoff system. A playoff system in a sport… who would have thought?
