It looks like the producers of Live! With Regis and Kelly are looking to expand their audience. Co-host Regis Philbin announced his retirement after this season, and Fox NFL analyst Michael Strahan has emerged as a possible replacement for the 80-year old veteran.
According to Pro Football Talk, “Philbin has been Strahan’s close friend, Rich “Big Daddy” Salgado of Coastal Advisors, posted a message on Twitter over the weekend claiming that Strahan is a candidate. If Strahan truly is a candidate, Salgado would know.”
The Super Bowl winner goes up against other candidates, Anderson Cooper, Josh Duhamel and Nick Lachey, who are rumored to replace Philbin who has been hosting the show since 1982. If Regis has anything to say about his replacement, he will be a Notre Dame fan.
It looks like Oprah won that wager… back in January, Oprah and Piers Morgan bet on which interviewer could land the notorious quaterback first, and O won. Michael Vick will appear on The Oprah Winfery Show this Thursday.
The tell-all will cover Vick’s time in prison, his work with the Humane Society and return to the NFL. Te interview with air Feb. 22.
Although Brett Favre still has time to change his mind about retirement, he may have found something to occupy his extra time with.
According to USA Today, Favre is in talks to join the 12th season of Dancing With The Stars. Past NFL superstars who have been on the show include, Kurt Warner, Season 3 winner Emmit Smith and Chad Ochocinco.
The cast of the new season with be announced Feb. 28 during the Bachelor. Favre hopes going on Dancing With The Stars will help clean up his image after sexual harassment allegations by Jenn Sterger… good luck with that one.
World Vision, a charity company that donates clothes to places in need, has received more than $2 million in Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl Champions gear. The clothes will go to Zambia, Nicaragua, Romania, Haiti and Armenia and include t-shirts, hats, towels and sweatshirts. The NFL, Dicks Sporting Goods and Sports Authority have all donated clothing. The countries were selected to decrease chances of the losing gear appearing on eBay. Talk about last season’s clothes…
