The Vancouver Canucks Green Men have gained quite a following. The dedicated fans sit next to the penalty box and taunt the opposing team. During last night’s Canucks vs. Toronto Maple Leafs game, the Green Men took advantage of the odd behavior Leafs fans displayed last week when they threw waffles at the players after they lost a game. The Green Men go by the names Force and Sully. Not much is known about their identity, but they do a pretty good job at agitating the players, the Canucks beat the Leafs 4-1.
Long over are the days of turmoil versus republicans and loyalists in Northern Ireland. The video above is of the Belfast Giants singing Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas. You wouldn’t know it by their choreography but the Giants are in first place in the UK’ Elite Ice Hockey League… Tis the season.
Male or female…. everyone loves a good hockey fight! Check out the KHL hockey brawl 6 seconds into the game. The fight between the Russian teams, Avangard and Vityaz was a rematch from a January fight. Believe it or not, European hockey players are actually known to be “soft.”
This year’s Winter Classic headliners Alexander Ovechkin and Sidney Crosby will be making a cameo on the Price Is Right to promote the New Years Day outdoor hockey game. Ovechkin and Crosby will be on the game show airing December 20 to give away an NHL themed Showcase. The winner will win tickets to the Washington Capitals- Pittsburgh Penguins Winter Classic at Heinz Field, VIP passes to the Winter Classic New Years Eve Party, all-access practice passes and a 2011 Honda CR-Z Sport Hybird.
