World Cup Day 13 Regulation Hottie Recap

Regulation Hottie: Our regulation hottie is American hero Landon Donovan. Donovan scored the game winning goal in the US v. Algeria soccer game. It is no surprise Donovan score the goal, he is also the all-time leader in scoring and assists among US players. Recap: US v. Algeria and England v. Slovenia played simultaneously. England first got the win, while the US was still tied with Algeria… at that moment the US knew what they had to do to advance into round of 16 in the World Cup. However, the US changes were looking grim until Landon Donovan scored in the 91st minute. Donovan scored on a counterattack to get the victory. This is the first time since the World Cup began in 1930 that the US has won their group. In the other important game, England beat Slovenia 1-0. The lone goal came from Jermain Defore, who scored in the 23rd minute. Australia and Germany got wins in their matches against Serbia and Ghana respectively. Despite Ghana’s loss, the US will play Ghana in their next game Saturday at 2:30. Tomorrow: It is do or die for Italy, who won the last World Cup in 2006. Italy plays Slovakia tomorrow at 10am.

World Cup Day 12 Regulation Hottie Recap

Regulation hottie: Argentinean Lionel Messi is considered one of the world’s best soccer player and won the FIFA World Player of the Year. Despite having yet to score in the World Cup tournament, Messi got our hunk of the day honor since he celebrates his birthday on Thursday. Argentina remains a heavy favorite in the World Cup and is first in Group B with 9 points.

Recap: Messi’s Aregnina beat Greece 2-0 to advance and take Group B. Both goals were scored in the second-half. France scored its first goal of the touranment in their 2-1 loss to South Africa. Off the field drama distracted France for much of the tournament and now the French are headed home. Meanwhile, South Africa advances when many doubted the home-country would get out of the first round. Nigeria became the third African nation to be eliminated as they tied South Korea 2-2. Nigeria lost their first two games and needed a victory to advance. With the tie, South Korea advances to the next Round of 16 for the second time in history.

Tomorrow: The two biggest games tomorrow are both in Group C as America takes on Algeria and England plays Slovenia. Both the US and England need to win to advance. The US can sneak by with a tie as long as England loses. Both games start tomorrow at 10am!

Mets go for Gaga for Wright

The Mets’ are capitalizing on Lady Gaga’s appearance at a Met’s game when she flipped off photographers.  Now the Met’s are using the Gaga controversy to get fans to vote for star David Wright for the MLB All-Star Game.

On Wednesday, the Mets will host “Go Gaga for Wright’ night, where the first 20,000 fans with receive a blue foam finger telling fans to use the “right finger” and click online to vote for Wright in the All-Star Game.

Ty Lawson says dating a Kardashian is the secret to winning a championship

First, the Saints won the Superbowl when Reggie Bush was dating Kim Kardashian, now, Khloe Kardashian’s husband Lamar Odom won an NBA Championship with the Lakers.

It appears as if dating a Kardashian means you are winning a championship, and Denver Nuggets Ty Lawson has taken notice. The rookie superstar Tweeted: “I hear if u hit a kardashian i win a championship.. kim k holla me!!! I need ya for 17 min.”

In Lawson’s next Tweet, he said: “I’ll take one for the team lol… If miles Austin miles or wateva his name is win a chip next ye… Then thins is amazing.”

Kim Kardashian has been linked to Dallas Cowboys Miles Austin. Hopefully Kim brings better luck to the Cowboys than Jessica Simpson did!
