The lockout is over and so are Jay Cutler and Kristin Cavallari. After setting the date to their July 2012 wedding, the reality TV star and Chicago Bears quarterback have called it off! Cutler broke the news via Facebook when he changed his relationship status to single but defended his former fiance saying, “Thank you all for the support, but if you talk bad about Kristin I will delete and block you. It’s unnecessary and heartless.”
Many Bears fans dubbed Cavallari as the Yoko Ono after Cutler had to pull out of the NFC title game from a knee injury, but the normally standoffish quarterback told his critics “Also, don’t say now I can play football, I could play football when I had her compared to when I don’t. Football is the least of my worries, so have some respect.”
Cutler and Cavallari began dating in the fall and got engaged in April. The Hills and Laguna Beach star is not taking the news well, “She got dumped,” People.com said, She’s absolutely devastated. She can’t believe this is happening.”
Before Cutler, Cavallari dated Mark Sanchez and Matt Leinart… now that she is back on the market, NFL quarterbacks beware!
Dallas Cowboys great Michael Irvin is on the newest cover of Out Magazine speaking out against homophobia in professional sports. When Irvin was 12- years old him and his dad discovered his brother was gay when he saw him dressed in woman’s clothing, “My dad looked back at me and said, ‘Yes, that’s your brother. And you love your brother.” Irvin’s close relationship with his brother has influenced him to help fight discrimination against the gay and lesbian community, ”I’m not gay, but I was afraid to even let anyone have the thought. I can only imagine the agony—being a prisoner in your own mind — for someone who wants to come out. If I’m not gay and I am afraid to mention it, I can only imagine what an athlete must be going through if he is gay.”
Irvin won three Super Bowls with the Dallas Cowboy in the 90s. Playing along side greats Emmet Smith and Deion Sanders, Irvin believes his team would’ve welcome a gay teammate. “I believe, if a teammate had said he was gay, we would have integrated him and kept moving because of the closeness. [...] We had a bunch of different characters on that team. Deion [Sanders] and Emmitt [Smith]. I believe that team would have handled it well.”
Irvin joins fellow athletes Ben Cohen, Hudson Taylor, Mike Chabala, and Nick Youngquest who are also interviewed in the magazine, in which Out calls small band of straight sports stars,”If anyone comes out in those top four major sports, I will absolutely support him!” Irvine said.
Reggie Bush is known for having a “type,” but his new girlfriend is sure not to be confused with Kim Kardashian. The NFL running back is said to be dating one of the Shannon twins, who gained notoriety for dating Hugh Hefner back in 2009. The Shannon twins were the first ever twins to be named Playmate of the Month in August 2009.
Despite breaking up in 2010, the twins moved back into the Playboy mansion after Hefwas left at the alter by fiance Crystal Harris just days before their June 2011 wedding. But that’s not stopping the girls from jersey chasing, the twins are said to be spotted at Bush’s home in neighboring Los Angeles.
Bush was most recently linked to Kardashian lookalike Melissa Molinero but is said to have broken up with the Old Navy commerical star because of the comparrisions to Kim K. While the Shannon twins may not look like Kardashian, they have both appeared in Playboy.
Terrell Owens is already has his own reality show on VH1, but the Cincinnati Bengals wide reciver now wants to develop a family sitcom based on his life. According to The Daily, the show will be named “8 & 1,” after the two number T.O has worn throughout his NFL career.
