When you are the No.9 ranked tennis player in the world you can do whatever you want… including kicking your parents out of Wimbledon. Marion Bartoli did just that during her match between Flavia Pennetta. Bartoli defended herself saying she grew frustrated after she fell to Pennetta 3-4 in the final set and needed a way to get out her anger.
It must have worked because Bartoli rallied to win and will now face Serena Williams in the fourth round. “I don’t remember exactly what I said but I think it was really clear,” Bartoli said, “I just had to let go my frustrations and express myself in some way. I could have done something else stupid, but whatever.”
Bartoli’s father left his job as a doctor to coach his daughter, so this wasn’t a moment he had been waiting for or anything. Still, Bartoli wanted to avoid any controversy after she received illegal coaching advice in the second round.
“I was so tired and exhausted that really I had to express my emotions somehow. I saw them right after the match, my parents, and they completely understood.”
It look likes Dwyane Wade has gotten over the NBA Finals loss with the help of George Clooney’s ex. Wade and model-actress Elisabetta Canalis were spotted at the Dsquared2 fashion show in Italy. The couple sat front row in matching denim attire. Despite Wade’s longtime girlfriend Gabrielle Union, PerezHilton reported that Wade and Canalis were very flirty with eachother.
It’s a good thing Wade is used to rebounding, Canalis and boyfriend George Clooney broke up after two years of dating this week. A statement was released by US Weekly saying: “We are not together anymore…It’s very difficult and very personal and we hope everyone can respect our privacy.”
NFL superstar Adrian Peterson charged peewee football players $199 to attend his football camp. Although attendees were promised motivational talks and mentoring by the NFL star Peterson canceled on the camp just days before.
According to Peterson, he was chosen by the NFL Network to be in the NFL Top 100 Program, which caused a scheduling conflict to film the special. ProCamps apologized saying, “Although we are saddened to hear that he won’t be able to attend his camp, we congratulate Adrian on the honor.” Only problem is, the NFL Network denied any wrongdoing saying they are not filming with the NFL superstar until July!
After being outed by the NFL network, ProCamps back peddled issuing refunds, and Peterson issued the statement saying, “I hosted camps in Palestine and Tyler, Texas, last week that went great. Due to ProCamps misunderstanding of my schedule, I was never able to host this year’s Norman camp on their scheduled dates, but look forward to being back in 2012.”
Cameron Diaz was on David Letterman to promote her new movie Bad Teacher. The normally relationship shy Diaz talked openly about her relationship with NY Yankee Alex Rodriguez (so much for breakup rumors) and even joked about the famous Popcorn-Gate at the Super Bowl!
