Is Steve Nash trying to save money on a publicist? The NBA star has announced the birth of his son and that he is divorcing his wife all in the same statement. Nash and his wife Alejandra welcomed their third child into the world, a son named Matteo Nash but have decided to go their separate ways.
The Arizona Republic released a statement form Nash saying, “I am very thankful and excited that we have a new son, Matteo Nash. Alejandra and the baby are doing fine. But this is a bittersweet moment for my wife and me; after five years, we are now in the process of dissolving our marriage.”
Nash met Alejandra in 2001 and were married in 2005. The couple gave birth to twins girls in 2004. In the statement, Nash also said, “I want only good things for Ale going forward. I’m focused on ensuring that our children understand how much they’re adored and loved by us as they continue to adjust to these changes. I would ask that their privacy, and ours as a family, be respected as we move forward. This will be my only statement on this.”
Alejandra is from Uruguay and worked as a personal trainer before marrying Nash, who plays for the Phoenix Suns.
Erin Andrews is in Ohio for the Ohio State Penn State football game. Last night, the cast of ESPN’s College Game Day took sometime to attend the Columbus Blue Jackets Colorado Avalanche game. Andrews got her start covering hockey for the Tampa Bay Lightning and is a former jersey chaser. In the clip above, Andrews admits she did not know much about hockey when she started covering the sport, but she got a crash course when she began dating former Florida Panthers defenseman Ryan Johnson.
The Blue Jackets lost to the Avs 5-1, and Ohio State beat Penn State 38-14.
The inappropriate pictures and voice mails Favre allegedly sent Sterger back in 2008 were released by Deadspin.com over a month ago. Sterger refused to speak to the NFL in the hopes of reaching a financial settlement with Favre. However, despite reaching out to him, Favre’s reps did not return Sterger’s team’s phone calls. A settlement would have prevented Sterger from taking legal action and would have included a confidentiality agreement.
Sterger met with NFL officials yesterday, accompanied by her lawyers and manager. It was first thought that Sterger was not cooperating with the investigation because of her show The Daily Line on Versus, which is now canceled.
Though Sterger initially wanted a settlement, when asked about the Tiger Woods scandal back in April, Sterger told the Ministry, “I feel like at some point these guys need to be sat down and told, ‘Look, you’re not invincible…. For every dumb girl that’s willing to lay down for you, at some point there’s going to be one smart enough to know what to do with that.”
At last night’s Country Music Awards Carrie Underwood dissed Brett Favre and Tiger Woods in her opening monologue. Carrie Underwood is a jersey chaser herself and is married to hockey player Mike Fisher. Underwood and fellow host Brad Paisley took the shot at Favre and Woods at the 2:45 mark.
