Pac 12 fighting with Tupac fan over Pac12.com domain name

With the addition of Utah and Colorado, the Pac 10 is now the Pac 12… but their domain name isn’t. The Pac 12 wants their web address to be Pac12.com, and so the rebranding campaign has been put on hold as a dedicated Tupac Shakur fan will not give up the domain name. Pac12.com is a MP3 widget allowing fans to download full Tupac albums via Amazon. The Pac12.com web page was left blank, until the Pac 12 filed a lawsuit with the World Intellectual Property Forum to gain ownership.

You would think the Pac 12 would have learned their lesson. Up until 2009, Pac10.com was owned by advertising and marketing company Marchex.

Mom forged college recruit’s letter of intent

This past Wednesday marked the National Signing Day, the first day high school seniors can declare where they will play their college careers. But the story dominating the headlines was not who signed where… but whose mother signed where! Floyd Ravens, a Reserve’s East St. John High Schoo senior, was caught in a controversy after his mom forged his letter of intent to attend Ole Miss.

Ravens was unaware his mom faxed in his LOI to Mississippi and faxed his own letter to Texas A&M. According to the four-star cornerback: “Long story short, my mom thought she was helping me out. I wasn’t home and she sent it in. I never told her I had changed my mind to Texas A&M. I forgive her for it. It was an honest mistake.”

Looks like mom doesn’t always know best…
