Tony Parker is just the latest athlete to be involved in a text message scandal. But it was a year ago this Thanksgiving news broke of the Tiger Woods cheating allegations. While Parker and Brett Favre have been giving Tiger some time off by dominating the headlines, Tiger has begun a PR campaign to help restore his image.
The golfer even joined Twitter, @TigerWoods, posting two tweets yesterday:
”What’s up everyone. Finally decided to try out twitter!”
“‘Yep, it’s me. I think I like this twitter thing. You guys are awesome. Thanks for all the love.”
In just one day, Tiger has attracted more than 180,000 followers. Along with trying to connect with fans on Twitter, the normally private Tiger has embarked on a media campaign. This morning, Tiger did an almost 20-minute interview with ESPN Radio’s Mike and Mike. In the interview Tiger revealed, “It’s amazing how much better I feel internally each and every day. How thankful I am to have the connection to my kids,” Woods said. “I feel so much better and everything is in much better perspective now.”
After his Mike and Mike interview, Tiger tweeted, “The best part about phone interviews is getting to wear shorts.”
I just hope this time Tiger keeps his shorts on! To follow thejerseychaser.com on Twitter click here!
Uchitel said, “People don’t really understand love addiction, but I think a lot of women will relate to it… Instead of filling themselves with booze or drugs, love addicts become emotionally invested in a series of bad relationships. Since I lost Andy (her fiance who died in 9/11), I have always been looking for the perfect man. I wanted a man who would marry me, give me the house and children I long for. I plunged headfirst into relationships which I should never have been in.”
“I went through hell. I fell to pieces. When the one-year anniversary of 9/11 happened, most of his friends had moved on. People we knew had married and were starting families. I felt robbed.”
Uchitel moved to Las Vegas and worked as a VIP hostess and made almost a half a million dollars a year, “I was paid well and got huge tips. I deserved it. I was good at my job.”
Part of Uchitel’s job was to give her clients whatever they wanted, including hookers. “If they wanted girls, I’d get them girls, though you have to understand I never got involved in that side of things. Of course, some of the girls were hookers. And others would sleep with men for gifts. But I didn’t force anyone to do anything. These were consenting adults. I was there to work and make money. It was strictly business.”
Strictly business, Uchitel was first introduced to Tiger on the job, and they began an eighth month affair. While Uchitel will not comment directly on it, she does laugh when the reporter says she is better looking than the rest of his mistresses, “It’s hard not to be.”
Uchitel has also been linked to other married men such as David Boreanaz but regrets sleeping with them, “Yes, of course. I will never, ever do that again… I am not a whore, nor am I a girl impressed by money or fame,’ she says. ‘I have a brain and I came from money. I never needed any man’s money.”
In the Daily Mail photo shoot, Uchitel chain smokes and wears a floral print dress, “It is not something I would normally be caught dead in. But I want to show a different side of me. I’ve been branded as a scarlet woman but I am much, much more than that.”
At last night’s Country Music Awards Carrie Underwood dissed Brett Favre and Tiger Woods in her opening monologue. Carrie Underwood is a jersey chaser herself and is married to hockey player Mike Fisher. Underwood and fellow host Brad Paisley took the shot at Favre and Woods at the 2:45 mark.
