Jenn Sterger threatens to go public with Brett Favre evidence

The saga continues… Jenn Sterger’s manager, Phil Reese has informed TMZ his client has, “provided extensive evidence that irrefutably proves there was harassment,” in the alleged sext messages Brett Favre sent to the former NY Jets sideline reporter. After months of investigating, the league may come to a resolution as soon as today, but if Sterger does not like the outcome, she is prepared to take matters into her own hands. Reese told TMZ, “No matter what happens Jenn has all legal remedies, including going public if the NFL doesn’t clear her name.”

Sterger going public is a change of tune after she refused to cooperate with the NFL’s investigation for months. Farve’s camp claims Sterger wanted a settlement to keep quiet. Looks like Plan B is for Sterger to sell her story… lucky for her this is Oprah’s last season.

Remember to vote for Jenn Sterger for Jersey Chaser of the Year!

Denver Broncos fire head coach Josh McDaniels

Uh oh… did Thejerseychaser.com jinx Denver Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels? Via the Broncos official Twitter, the team announced McDaniels was out as the team’s head coach. Over the weekend, TJC reported how McDaniels traded Peyton Hillis was traded to the Cleveland Browns after he hit on McDaniel’s wife, Laura McDaniels. McDaniels may wish he kept Hillis since he is having a record breaking year, and the Broncos are 3-9. But sometimes you have to worry about the jersey chased and not the jersey chaser!

Sidney Crosby Alexander Ovechkin Vanity Fair photo shoot

Hockey stars Sidney Crosby and Alexander Ovechkin are in the new issue of Vanity Fair for the January 1st Winter Classic against the Pittsburgh Penguins and Washington Capitals.

The NHL tried to leverage the metrosexual readership of Vanity Fair to expand their fanbase for a sport where the mullet is acceptable and fighting is encouraged. Despite the NHL’s effort, Vanity Fair only printed a 290-word preice withouth any quotes form either athlete. But let’s face it, Vanity Fair is way classier than anything Ovechkin would have said.

This year’s Winter Classic is at Pittsburgh Steeler’s Heinz Field, and while the Capitals don’t have a particularly strong fan base, the main reason for this match up is because of the Ovechkin Crosby rivalry.

The two stars are polar opposite, not only in their playing style but Ovechkin loves his Russian ladies… while Crosby still lives at the home of Penguins owner Mario Lemuiex.

In a Vanity Fair online exclusive interview, Crosby touches on their rivalry saying, “It always feels like there’s a bit more there just because of the emotion, because of the intensity. I guess that’s what makes rivalries—when it seems like there’s a little bit extra there…He’s got speed; he’s big; he’s physical. He can score from pretty much anywhere.”

Another noteworthy comment from Crosby is that his favorite player is Steve Yzerman. After being a fan of Crosby from when he was 13 (creepy I know), I had to abruptly end my Crosby fanhood when he cheated me out of seeing the Red Wings win two Stanley Cups in person (2008′s Game 5 and 2009′s Game 7). Finding out Crosby is a fan of Yzerman, only the greatest player ever, may have just reignited the flame.

Ilitch purchase of the Pistons a no-go; team won’t be sold till after All-Star break

Citibank said the Detroit Pistons will not be sold until after the NBA All-Star game. Pistons owner, Karen Davidson, the widow of Bill Davidson,  hired Citibank to represent the franchise during its sale .

The time line of the projected sale means that Detroit Red Wings and Tigers owner, Mike Ilitch will not become a triple threat. Ilitch scored an exclusive agreement to negotiate the sale of the team, but the deal expired after one month without a deal reached.

Davidson and Citibank said if they could not find a buyer willing to pay an excess of $400 million for the Pistons, they may have to wait until the economy rebounds or sell the team to a foreign investor. The Pistons have already sparked the interests of Middle East investors, making many fans worry that the Pistons will have to relocate.
