The San Francisco Giants are the 2010 World Series Champions. The Giants beat the Texas Rangers in five games, winning tonight’s matchup 4-1 . Shortstop Edgar Renteria was named MVP of the series. This is the Giants first World Series since 1954.
The World Series means October has come to a close. Below are the top five most popular posts for the month of October. Coming as no surprise, Favre dominated Thejerseychaser.com, which is why Jenn Sterger was named The Jersey Chaser of the Month for November. Keep chashing and let’s get 1,000 visits in November!
The music video for Justin Bieber’s new single “Never Say Never” will debut during Fox’s pre-show for Game 3 of the World Series. What it has to do with baseball is unclear, but the San Francisco Giants have a two game lead on the Texas Rangers.
Bieber, who is Canadian, capitalized on his American fanbase and filmed the music video at Angels Stadium. During the video he wears Giants and Angels gear (how diplomatic).
While American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson will sing the National Anthem before the game, the Canadian singer will sing “God Bless America” during the seventh inning stretch.
Above is a screen shot of Perez Hilton.com reporting on the story, but the headline reads “Justin Bieber Going to the Superbowl.” Hey, Perez the Superbowl is not the same thing as the World Series, leave the chasing to us!
The San Francisco Giants are hoping to win their first World Series since 1954 and are hoping signing legend Tony Bennett will give them a little good luck. It’s working so far the Giants won Game 1 of the World Series against the Texas Rangers, 11-7.
Bennett was on hand to sing “God Bless America,” but Bennett also sang his classic hit, “I Left My Heart in San Francisco.”
Although Bennett’s performance of “I Left My Heart in San Francisco” was not shown on TV, maybe it should have been. Baseball playoffs have struggled in the ratings, with the NFL’s Monday Night Football winning in the ratings race. In the past, the Yankees are a ratings magnet but were outdone by the less than monumental Jacksonville Jaguars Tennessee Titans game last Monday.
The Philadelphia Phillies were eliminated from the playoffs by the San Francisco Giants over the weekend. It would have been the Phillies third consecutive trip to the World Series. Many Phillies fans are disappointed in the team’s poor performance and especially of their star player Ryan Howard. Howard struck out in the last out to end the Phillies’ season and even tied a LCS (League Championship Series) record of 12 strikeouts. Now, an angry fan has taken to Craigslist to post Ryan Howard’s Bat for $1.00 with the guarantee that your kid will strike out.
