Tennessee Titans defensive coordinator Chuck Cecil disagreed with a refs calls against the Titans and let everyone know about it. Cecil gave the middle finger to the ref after the Titans were called on an a neutral zone infraction penalty. The NFL is expected to fine Cecil between $10,000-$25,000. The Titans have a history of flipping the bird, in 2009 owner Bud Adams was fined $250,000 after he gave the middle finger from the owners box after a Titans win over the Buffalo Bills.
Others who also had unfortunate bad luck in Week 4 of the NFL: Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler who left the Bears NY Giants game early. Cutler suffered a concussion after he was sacked nine times in the first half. The Giants beat the 4-0 Bears 17-3. Philadelphia Eagles QB Michael Vick injured his ribs and is scheduled to have an MRI. The Eagles lost to the Washington Redskins and to a familiar face. Former Eagles QB and franchise player Donovan McNabb led the Redskins to victory, 17-12.
Hank Baskett, NFL receiver but best known for his marriage to Kendra Wilkinson, was released form the Philadelphia Eagles on Tuesday. But Baskett was not without a job for long because he signed with the Minnesota Vikings today after the team failed to trade for San Diego Chargers receiver Vincent Jackson.
The Vikings were in need of a receiver, and Baskett started his career in Minnesota. Baskett signed as a rookie undrafted free agent in 2006 out of the University of New Mexico
This is the second time Baskett has been released by the Eagles. After being released by Philadelphia in 2009, Baskett went on to play for the Inianapolis Colts where he was involved in a controversial slip up in Super Bowl XLIV.
Baskett and Wilkinson have their own reality show on E! Good luck in Minnesota Hank, but Thejerserychaser.com says to keep your day job!!
On Friday, a shooting broke out at the nightclub Michael Vick was celebrating his 30th birthday at. A lawyer for Vick quickly disputed the story by saying Vick had left the nightclub 30 minutes prior to the altercation. Now, the Daily Press reports video surveillance shows Vick leaving at 2:07am… not a half hour before but three minutes before the 2:10am shooting. According to a source, Quanis Phillips, who was involved in the shooting and also served as a co-defendant in the Vick dogfighting case, slapped Vick’s fiancee Kijafa Frink while she was feeding Vick cake causing cake to get on the Eagles’ backup QB. Little cake got on Vick, but the two did exchange words.
While the police have announced that Vick is not a person of interest in the shooting, NFL Commissioner Roger Godell may be of interest. Last July, when Vick was reinstated, Godell warned Vick not to associate with people involved in the dogfighting case and that his “margin for error was extremely limited.”
On Friday, the NFL released a statement saying that they were looking into the situation, but now word yet if a decision has been made or if they know who let the dogs out.
